Ed note: Last year the Israeli Newspaper Ha'aretz published a lengthy article about Middlesbrough, the town, its people and football club. Those who know Ha'aretz will not be surprised to learn that there is no mention of the Jewish community whatsoever in the entire article. Despite being polemical, much of the article will strike a chord amongst those who grew up in the town. We would be interested to hear your reactions and comments.

There was a super coffee morning at David Simon`s home in Stokesley Monday 14th July 2003 - 18 of us plus 4 from Darlington Reform. We had a fascinating talk by Rev Malcolm Weisman, the Chief Rabbi`s Minster for small communities on his travels to Malta, Germany, and Jewish pilots in the Gulf. It was enthralling to hear and everyone had a lovely morning. Even Bill Sachs came - it was very nice to see people again. Gwen Lamb Middlesbrough, England
